TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION

From Incheon International Airport to the central city

Incheon International Airport is well connected to all major cities in Republic of Korea, including Incheon where KOPRI is located. Depending on your arrival time and the amount of luggage you bring, you can choose between two options: Limousine Bus or Taxi.

Limousine Bus (KRW 8,000; approx. USD $7)

  • For those arriving through Terminal 1, visit the ticket box outside Gate 3B and purchase a ticket for bus number ‘6777’ or ‘6777-1’. The bus for Incheon is near outside Gate 2A and 2B.

  • For those arriving through Terminal 2, proceed to the first basement level where the ticket kiosks are located at, and take the same bus , number ‘6777’ or ‘6777-1’

From Hotel to Korea Polar Research Institute (KOPRI)

Please take the local bus number 6 (blue), 9 (blue), 16 (blue), 42 (green) from the bus stop near your hotel to reach KOPRI. It will take about 30-50 minutes from listed hotels above to KOPRI. If you take taxi, it will take about 10 minutes and cost approximately $6 USD.

 

From Songdo (Incheon) to Busan

Train

  1. From Songdo to KTX Station (Gwangmyeong)
    • For those who are taking the train at Gwangmyeong Station (KTX) to Busan, please take red bus number 3002 at the bus stop ‘Incheon Startup Park’. It usually takes approximately 1.5hrs to get to Gwangmyeong Station.

    • Bus fare can only be paid with the local bus card (T-money), so you might want to purchase one at any convenience store beforehand.
    • *NOTE : T-money cards are only purchasable with cash (Korean won).
    • A taxi from Songdo to Gwangmyeong KTX Station ( KRW 32,000 / USD 22)
  1. From Gwangmyeong to Busan (by KTX train)

Air Travel

  1. From Songdo to Gimpo Airport (Domestic)
    • Take Incheon Line 1 subway à Transfer to the Airport Railroad at Gyeyang Station à Get off at Gimpo International Airport Station
