Karissa Shannon

Position title: Research Intern

Karissa Shannon works as a Research Intern for the group at the Space Science and Engineering Center. She was a graduate student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and received her Master’s in Atmospheric and Oceanic Science. Her responsibilities primarily involve building and maintaining the AMRDC data repository, along with other various tasks for the group. Karissa earned her B.S. in Atmospheric and Oceanic Science from UW – Madison in December of 2021. In her undergrad, she did research with Professor Tristan L’Ecuyer involving polar snowfall data. This topic interests her greatly as she will continue similar research for her M.S. In her free time, Karissa enjoys cooking, live music, going on long walks, and playing with her cat.
