Taylor Norton
Position title: Researcher
Taylor Norton works as a Researcher for the group at the Space Science and Engineering Center at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her work in the AMRDC includes quality control of the Automatic Weather Stations (AWS), data organization, creating data displays, and other research projects.
She received her M.S. in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences in May 2024, studying the waviness of the Southern Hemisphere wintertime subtropical and polar jet streams. In her undergraduate studies, she majored in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences and Environmental Studies. She used to be a student hourly Antarctic Atmospheric Research Assistant in the group as well. Taylor deployed to Antarctica for the 2019-2020 field season to help service our AWS and earned an Antarctic medal. She deployed again as team lead for the first part of the 2022-2023 field season. Before that, she worked as a student hourly at Madison Area Technical College with Dr. Matthew Lazzara on a MRI NSF grant from 2017-2018.
In her free time, Taylor enjoys reading, watching movies, baking and being with friends and family.
