Notes:
The Cape Hallett meteorological station was constructed in the 2003-2004 field season. The station was set up to sample sensors every 30 seconds, except for the sonic sensor which is measured once an hour, and send summary statistics (for example, averages and maximums) to solid-state storage modules every 15 minutes. This has resulted in 19 values being recorded for final storage in every output interval. The ‘modern’ Hallett AWS has had an interesting life, initially being set up by NIWA, then replaced by LTER, then AMRC. Both meteorological and soil data has been collected since 1957, when the Hallett US/NZ station was initially set up.
See the LGP Hallet Data page for more data and information.
